A wonderful old country house whose former glory has been revived by owners henry and Elaine Reid. An 18th century mansion was formerly an estate house of the landed gentry who prized it for its serenity.
It has one single and 12 double, comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms. The intimate bar is ideal for a pre-dinner drink and the high quality Irish menu is delightfully prepared from fresh produce from the nearby Connemara hills, streams and lakes as well as fish straight from the Atlantic.
The Hotel has its own magnificent gardens with hardcourt tennis and the Oughterard golf course is around two miles away. Nearby attractions include Aughnanure castle, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, the Aran islands and the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren.
